ValveAnnounceSteam has officially rolled out a completely redesigned store page update to all users. This update addresses the issue of the store page appearing too crowded on widescreen displays by widening the page layout, supporting higher-resolution images, and introducing a new viewing mode for trailers and screenshots, thereby optimizing the user browsing experience.
Imported a 1200-pixel wide layout and added a "Theater Mode".
In this update, the appearance of the game store page, search results, recommendation page, store hubs, Steam charts, and news hub has been adjusted to make them visually more consistent and spacious.
Valve stated that expanding the page width to 1200 pixels was a "good balance" of "displaying more content" without making the page too crowded or difficult to navigate.
The top carousel now features a large pop-up option called "Theater Mode," as well as a full-screen mode. The "About the Game" section also features new formatting options for a more organized layout.
The homepage will not be adjusted for now, but similar adjustments will be made in the future.
In addition, users may also notice that some game store pages and bundle pages have adopted a more colorful design for their backgrounds.
However, Valve specifically mentioned that this update does not include Steam's "Homepage." Valve stated that they are making "similar adjustments" to the Homepage, but the related update was not released with this redesign.
This update, which was previously tested with Beta users, has now been officially rolled out to all Steam users.
