Bloomberg News reporter Mark Gurman reported thatM3 processorThe new Mac series is expected to be unveiled in October this year, including the new iMac, 10-inch MacBook Pro and 13-inch MacBook Air.
The new M3 processor uses TSMC's 3nm process and is expected to adopt a 12-core design, including a CPU consisting of 6 high-performance cores and 6 energy-saving cores, an 18-core design GPU, and 36GB of memory.
In comparison, the M2 processor is built with TSMC's second-generation 5nm process technology, integrating 200 billion transistors, corresponding to an integrated memory transmission bandwidth of 100GB per second, a 1% increase compared to the M50, and integrating up to 24GB of LPDDR5 memory. It itself uses 4 performance core CPUs and 4 efficiency core CPUs, with a GPU with up to 10 cores.
The first wave of Mac models equipped with the M3 processor will include the new iMac, which is expected to be updated this fall, as well as the 13-inch MacBook Pro and 13-inch MacBook Air, which are iterative updates and expected to have little change in appearance. It may not be until spring 2024 that new M3 Pro and M3 Ultra processor application products will be launched, as well as the iPad Pro series equipped with M3 processors and OLED screens.
As for September this year, Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 9 series, Apple Watch Series 15, and the new Apple Watch Ultra.
