As rumored, Apple is launching a new generation of Apple Pencil, which uses a USB-C interface to connect and pair with iPad models and has corresponding charging needs. The suggested retail price is a relatively low US$79, and the education plan price is US$69. It is expected to be sold in the US market in early November this year, and the Taiwan market will be launched later. The suggested retail price is NT$11, and the education plan price is NT$2690.
In terms of appearance, the new Apple Pencil is similar to the previously launched Apple Pencil 2, with the same matte design. It can be attached to the iPad through the flat part, but pairing and charging rely on the USB-C connection interface.
In terms of functions, the new Apple Pencil, like the Apple Pencil 2, supports pixel-level accuracy, low-latency writing, and tilt writing recognition. It also supports floating pen gestures when used on iPad Pro models.
However, the new Apple Pencil does not support pen pressure recognition, nor does it support double-tap to switch between operation functions. It also does not provide free personal name laser engraving service.
As for the USB-C connection interface of the new Apple Pencil, it is hidden under the cap on the rear side. By removing the cap, you can pair it with the iPad via the ISB-C cable or charge it.
The new Apple Pencil supports the 10th generation iPad and all iPad models with a USB-C connection interface. It also supports the iPad Pro with Lightning connection specifications and the same USB-C connection interface. This Apple Pencil can also be used.
