Motorola recently unveiled its latest Edge series model, the Edge 70, emphasizing an ultra-thin design with a thickness of only 5.9mm, clearly targeting Apple's recent release of a new smartphone.iPhone AirMotorola emphasizes that although the Edge 70 is still slightly thicker by 0.3mm, the protrusion of its camera module is less noticeable.
Aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, IP69 waterproof rating, and a large 4800mAh battery capacity
Despite its extremely slim profile, the Edge 70 makes no compromises on durability and battery life. Its frame is made of aerospace-grade aluminum, the screen is covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, and it supports IP69 water and dust resistance.
In terms of battery life, Motorola has packed a large 4800mAh battery into a 5.9mm thick body, which the company claims can provide up to 50 hours of continuous use (compared to the iPhone Air's battery life of about 22-27 hours).
Powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor and the Moto AI2 digital assistant.
In terms of core specifications, the Edge 70 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. On the software side, Motorola has promised to provide software support and security updates until 2031.
In terms of AI functionality, the Edge 70 will also incorporate Motorola's own "moto ai2" digital assistant service. In addition to standard image generation and question answering, Motorola emphasizes that this AI function can understand the content displayed on the screen and proactively guide the user to take the correct follow-up actions.
5000-megapixel triple-lens camera, supports 4K video recording
In terms of camera, the Edge 70 features a 5000-megapixel triple-lens main camera module, including a wide-angle lens that supports 4K video recording, an ultra-wide-angle lens with macro capabilities, and a dedicated light-sensing lens, and is equipped with AI photography assistance tools.
In addition, the Edge 70 will also come with a magnetic protective case that supports wireless charging.
Pricing and Availability
The Motorola Edge 70 is available in the UK market starting today, with a suggested retail price of £700 (approximately US$910, or NT$29200). Motorola has not yet provided information regarding whether it will be introduced to the US or other markets.
