As previously rumored, Apple finally announced a new model called iPhone Air at this fall conference, and touted it as the lightest and thinnest iPhone product Apple has ever made.

However, the iPhone Air is not named "17" as rumored, which may mean that this new phone may become a new independent product, but it may also be that Apple wants to highlight the uniqueness of this product, so it is only called "Air" in the name.

The iPhone Air is only 5.6mm thick and features a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. It also supports ProMotion display technology with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The body is made of 80% recycled polished titanium, which is claimed to be resistant to up to 3 times the scratch resistance and 4 times the impact resistance, emphasizing that it is the most durable iPhone model ever. The body is available in black, gray, gold and blue.
In terms of processor, it is equipped with the more high-performance A19 Pro, rather than the previously rumored processor with less average performance. In addition, it is also equipped with Apple's self-developed N1 chip for the first time, which can handle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Thread connections, and is further upgraded to use the new C1X networking chip. Compared with the C16 previously used in iPhoen 1e, it increases the network connection performance by 2 times. The overall power consumption is also claimed to be lower than that of iPhone 16 Pro, making it the most power-saving iPhone model ever.

The camera system has been streamlined to a single lens, primarily to save more space for the battery. However, the iPhone Air still features a 4800-megapixel camera, with a 1200-megapixel camera that can be used as a 2x telephoto lens, supporting focal lengths of 26mm, 28mm, 35mm, and 52mm. It can also shoot 4K60p Dolby Vision video, and the camera controls remain on the body.

As for the video camera, it is the same as the iPhone 17, and also introduces the 1800-megapixel Center Stage camera function, but with the performance of the A19 Pro processor, it can additionally realize the simultaneous recording function of the front and rear camera systems, making it easier for the live host to shoot themselves and the subject or the front scene at the same time.

Regarding connectivity, due to the iPhone Air's further reduction in thickness, Apple will be launching a pure eSIM version globally. To coincide with the launch of the slimmer iPhone Air, Apple also released a new, thinner MagSafe magnetic battery accessory, while still emphasizing the iPhone Air's battery life of up to 40 hours of continuous video playback.

Apple also created a new transparent protective case and protective frame for the iPhone Air, and even launched a mobile phone lanyard accessory that has been increasingly used recently to make it easier to carry the phone on your back.

iPhone Air is available for pre-order starting today and will be officially launched on September 9th. The suggested retail price starts at US$19, and the NT$ price starts at NT$999. The storage capacity starts at 36900GB and the maximum storage capacity is 256TB.
