Craig Duncan, head of Microsoft's Xbox Game Studios, confirmed earlier on an official podcast that the new "Fable" game, originally scheduled to be released in 2025, will be postponed to 2026.
The new "Fable" game was confirmed to go into production as early as July 2020, and was developed by Playground Games, which previously created the "Forza Horizon" series, and the relevant trailer was announced in June 7.
This time it has been confirmed that the release will be postponed to 2026. Craig Duncan said that the development team needs more time to prepare for this new game, and also released some screenshots of the early development version of the new game.
It has been 15 years since Microsoft last launched the Fable series. Microsoft originally planned to launch the multiplayer online game Fable Legends, but later announced the cancellation of the game in March 2016 and closed Lionhead Studios on April 3 of the same year, which caused a backlash from many players. Microsoft later admitted thatThis decision is wrong.
