The Galaxy S26 series is expected to introduce OpenAI or Perplexity services. Taiwan may add eSIM functions by introducing different specifications.

Since introducing the Galaxy AI function in the Galaxy S24 series and continuing to cooperate with Google, Samsung has continued to strengthen artificial intelligence functions in subsequent models such as the Galaxy S25 series. However, it is also reported that it is considering cooperating with artificial intelligence technology companies other than Google to avoid relying on a single technology supply partner.

The Galaxy S26 series is expected to introduce OpenAI or Perplexity services. Taiwan may add eSIM functions by introducing different specifications.

according toBloomberg NewsIt is said that Samsung is currently interested in adding more sources of artificial intelligence technology cooperation to the Galaxy S26 series to be launched next year, which may change the current situation of only cooperating with Google on Gemini technology.

Most likely to negotiate cooperation with OpenAI and Perplexity to fill the gaps in its own artificial intelligence technology development

Choi Won-joon, president of Samsung Electronics' Device Experience (DX) business, previously revealed that the company is open to integrating other artificial intelligence solutions. This means that Samsung will not only maintain in-depth cooperation with Google, but may also continue to cooperate with other companies to make up for its own shortcomings in the development of artificial intelligence technology applications.

According to current information, Samsung may negotiate cooperation with artificial intelligence companies including OpenAI and Perplexity, so there is a chance that the Galaxy S26 series launched next year will bring more artificial intelligence usage experience, which may include the artificial intelligence agent service currently promoted by OpenAI and the artificial intelligence search experience provided by Perplexity.

On the other hand, Samsung has repeatedly emphasized that Galaxy AI will be free of charge before 2025, which means that it may switch to a paid usage model starting in 2026. It is also likely to mean a change in its cooperation with Google in artificial intelligence services, unless the two parties further negotiate to extend the cooperation.

However, judging from Samsung's current practice of continuing to negotiate with external parties for cooperation in artificial intelligence technology, it seems to highlight that Samsung itself has not made much progress in the development of artificial intelligence technology, even though it has proposedProprietary Gauss artificial intelligence model, and supports languages such as Korean, English, and Chinese, and can even be deployed in the cloud or on devices, but it currently seems to be mainly used for very basic functions, such as instant translation on the device, image generation and other applications, and even its own Bixby digital assistant service is rarely mentioned at present.

The three-screen foldable phone is expected to be released before the end of this year, and the technical cooperation with Google may also change

If we look at the three-screen folding phone that Samsung has previously revealed,The goal is to debut before the end of this yearPerhaps before the Galaxy S26 series is officially launched, Samsung will further upgrade the application of artificial intelligence technology to allow the new function to integrate more artificial intelligence services.

As for hardware specifications, after announcing the launch of the lighter and thinner Galaxy S25 edge this year, the market expects that Samsung will cancel the Plus model originally positioned as a large-screen mobile phone and replace it with an edge model. The flagship model will still be mainly the Ultra model. In addition, it is also possible to return to launching two specifications of Exynos processor and Qualcomm processor to meet different market demands.

The eSIM function that Taiwanese consumers care more about may be accompanied by changes in the model of the introduced mobile phones?

In a recent interview, Chen Qimeng, general manager of Samsung's mobile communications business in Taiwan, revealed that the Galaxy S26 series to be launched next year will finally have the opportunity to add the eSIM function, which may become a change that many Taiwanese users are "looking forward to".

However, many people previously believed that the Taiwan version did not provide eSIM because the Taiwan version was actually different from the Chinese and Hong Kong versions.Same model specificationsTherefore, the eSIM function is not included in the hardware design. If Chen Qimeng reveals that there will be a chance to add eSIM design to the new phone in the future, it may mean that the specifications of the models introduced in Taiwan in the future will no longer be the same as the versions for the Chinese market.

However, the specific details still need to wait for Samsung's subsequent announcement. After all, there is no definite statement yet that the Galaxy S26 series to be launched next year will definitely support eSIM function in the Taiwan market.
