Beats, a subsidiary of Apple, earlier announced the launch of the new generation flagship full-face active noise-cancelling headphones Beats Studio Pro, which also added spatial audio playback function. Compared with Apple's AirPods Max, it also supports lossless audio playback function, but it is only limited to USB wired connection and must be used through USB DAC. It still does not support the use of lossless audio content through wireless connection.
Beats Studio Pro is equipped with a 40mm dual-diaphragm dynamic driver, which reduces distortion to a minimum through enhanced magnets and convection design. Compared with the previous model Beats Studio 3 Wireless, it can improve distortion performance by about 80%, and enhance digital audio clarity through digital signal processor.
Beats Studio Pro also has adaptive active noise reduction function, which can monitor the ambient noise in real time and filter out unnecessary noise. It can also switch the ambient sound mode, support spatial audio and head tracking, and support Dolby Atmos spatial audio format. Personalized spatial audio settings can also be made when used with devices such as iPhone.
As for the functional design, Beats Studio Pro has a built-in USB DAC function, which can be connected via USB-C in a wired manner. It can also be used with devices such as iPhone to set three sound modes: classic, entertainment and call. The charging function can also be used simultaneously during the connection process. It can also be connected and used via a 3.5mm headphone cable.
In terms of battery life, Beats Studio Pro is rated for 40 hours of use, though this drops to 24 hours when active noise cancellation or ambient sound mode is enabled. They also support fast charging, providing four hours of battery life in just 10 minutes.
Like Apple products, Beats Studio Pro is also built to environmentally friendly specifications, including the use of 100% recycled rare earths in the magnet components used in the dynamic units, and 100% recycled tin as solder. The manufacturing components do not contain materials that have a greater impact on the environment, such as mercury, beryllium, polyvinyl chloride and brominated flame retardants. The packaging is also made of 100% wood pulp.
In addition, even though Beats Studio Pro is designed for iOS devices, it also supports Android platforms and supports Google's Fast Pair fast pairing function. It can switch seamlessly between Android devices and Chromebooks, and can also determine the whereabouts of lost devices through the Android platform's "Find My Device" function.
Beats Studio Pro is available in four colors: black, navy blue, sandstone gray and dark coffee. The suggested retail price is NT$12490, but it is not yet available in Taiwan.
