The Armada 2022-inch and 25-inch gaming monitors, as well as the corresponding stand accessories, unveiled during Gamescom 27, are the second new product category launched by HyperX after its acquisition by HP, following the Cloud Mix Buds true wireless earphones. The Taiwan prices have also been announced, and will start at NT$14400 respectively.
HyperX stated that initially, it will only offer the Armada 25-inch and 27-inch gaming monitor sets that include desktop stand accessories. In the future, it will also sell stand accessories separately, allowing users to expand the existing monitor usage mode or use them in conjunction with existing monitors. The stand can be adjusted in height, left and right position, and screen direction to accommodate a more diverse screen viewing experience.
In further explanation, HyperX stated that after being acquired by HP, it has internally begun planning different product developments. The announcement of the launch of the monitor product is mainly focused on the needs of more users in terms of screen usage experience. For example, there will be different needs for general usage scenarios and gaming usage modes. At the same time, there may be multiple sets of screen usage requirements during the creative process. The hope is to allow users to use the screen in a more flexible way.
The Armada 25-inch and 27-inch gaming monitors both use AUO IPS panels and are compatible with NVIDIA G-Sync anti-screen tearing technology. The former corresponds to a 24.5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response rate, while the latter corresponds to a 27-inch display with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, a 165Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms response rate, and is compliant with VESA Display HDR 400 certification.
As for the stand, it can support a maximum single 32-inch monitor weighing less than 9 kg, and can be expanded to up to four 4-inch monitors. It can also support screen lock points that comply with the VESA 25mm x 75mm specification, and it emphasizes that it can be quickly installed or removed without the use of tools.
The current suggested retail price of the Armada 25-inch gaming monitor is NT$14400, while the 27-inch version is priced at NT$15700. Pre-orders are now available.
