Bethesda earlier announced that its "The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered" will be launched on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms, and will be available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service at the same time.
Based on the 2006 version released for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, Bethesda says it maintains its fantasy world setting and highly flexible gameplay. This remake, developed by Virtuos Studio and built on Unreal Engine 5, adds more detailed graphics and modern lighting and shadow effects, while also modernizing character modeling and enabling 4K 60fps playback on next-generation consoles.
In addition, the remastered version also enhances the game's operating system, including improved blocking and bow mechanisms, and an enhanced stamina system. Interfaces including characters, battle screens, menus, etc. are all newly built to suit the modern gaming experience.
The remastered version also includes all the expansion downloads from the 2006 version, including "Shivering Isles", "Knights of the Nine", "The Thieves Den", "Wizard's Tower", "Vile Lair" and more.
