ASUS, a company that has been cultivating the dual-screen laptop market for many years, launched the new generation Zenbook DUO (UX8407AA) at CES 2026. This new machine is not just a simple upgrade of hardware specifications, but has undergone in-depth structural optimization for the user experience of dual screens.
The new Zenbook DUO continues the well-received design of "dual 14-inch screens + detachable keyboard", but in addition to replacing it with the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor, it has significantly reduced the gap between the two screens and packed in an amazing 99Wh battery, attempting to solve the pain points of previous dual-screen laptops in terms of visual continuity and battery life.
Enhanced visual experience: 70% smaller bezels, 3K 144Hz OLED screen
The most noticeable changes in the new Zenbook DUO (2026) are in the screen bezel and hinge design. ASUS has adopted a new hinge mechanism, successfully reducing the gap between the two screens by 70%, and the thickness of the top and bottom screen bezels by 22% to 37%.
This means that when users unfold the two screens into a 180-degree flat mode or waterfall mode, the visual disconnect will be greatly reduced, almost like a single, super-large extended screen. Furthermore, ASUS boasts enhanced load-bearing capacity and durability of the dual-screen hinges, claiming they can even withstand the direct weight of a 10-kilogram dumbbell.
Both screens feature 14-inch 3K (2880 x 1800) Lumina Pro OLED display panels, supporting a 144Hz refresh rate and 0.2ms response time, with a peak brightness of 1000 nits. For extended use comfort, anti-reflective coating and ambient light adaptation technology are specifically emphasized to ensure clear and eye-friendly performance under various lighting conditions.
Core Performance: Powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3, graphics performance doubles.
In terms of hardware specifications, the Zenbook DUO (2026) is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor codenamed Panther Lake. This processor not only boasts an NPU computing power of 50 TOPS, meeting Microsoft's Copilot+ PC definition, but also features significantly improved performance from its built-in Intel Arc display.
According to official data, the new Zenbook DUO has made a huge leap in 3D rendering and gaming performance compared to its predecessor. For example, the score in 3DMark Fire Strike has increased by 61%, and the frame rate in Cyborg 2077 has even increased by 115%, showing that this generation of integrated graphics is sufficient to handle light to moderate creative and gaming needs.
To suppress the heat generated by high performance, the chassis uses an enlarged dual-fan cooling system (each fan has 97 blades), which can dissipate up to 45W TDP, an improvement of 28% compared to the previous generation.
Body design: Ceraluminum material, 99Wh battery
In terms of appearance, the Zenbook DUO (2026) is made entirely of ASUS' exclusive Ceraluminum material. This material combines the warm touch of ceramic with the durability of aluminum alloy. It is not only fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant, but also makes the body look more premium. The color is "Moher Grey", which is inspired by nature.
Despite being a dual-screen device, ASUS has managed to cram a massive 99Wh battery into the limited space of the chassis. ASUS claims that it can play videos continuously for up to 32 hours in single-screen mode, and even with both screens on simultaneously, it can achieve 18 hours of battery life, which is extremely attractive to business people who need to work on the go for long periods of time.
In addition, the body weight is controlled at 1.65 kg, and the overall area occupied is reduced by 5% compared with the previous generation, and the portability is not compromised due to the increased battery size.
Complete connectivity and 6-speaker system
In terms of connectivity, the Zenbook DUO (2026) does not sacrifice expandability for its slim and lightweight design. The chassis is equipped with two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, one HDMI 2.1 port, and an audio jack.
The audio system has also been upgraded, featuring a 6-speaker system consisting of 2 tweeters and 4 woofers, supporting Dolby Atmos, and with a volume 125% higher than its predecessor, providing a richer listening experience for video conferencing or audio-visual entertainment.
