The battle of panoramic aerial photography: DJI Avata 360 attacks Insta360's Antigravity A1, who is the true king of "God's-eye view"?

When Insta360 launches its 360-degree panoramic drone under the Yingling brand in 2025...Antigravity A1After attracting the market, DJI also announced earlier that it would...Avatar 360In retaliation, this is not only a contest between two major companies in image algorithms, but also a clash of two different product philosophies regarding "flight safety" and "image quality." One side boasts a weight of 249 grams, no application required, and a minimalist flight experience, while the other emphasizes all-around obstacle avoidance, stable image transmission, and multi-mode photography. What are the actual differences in specifications and user experience between these two "panoramic machines" that are changing the logic of creation? Below is our detailed comparative analysis.

The battle of panoramic aerial photography: DJI Avata 360 attacks Insta360's Antigravity A1, who is the true king of "God's-eye view"?

In-depth user experience comparison: a trade-off between security and lightweight design.

Flight safety and environmental adaptability

The DJI Avata 360 inherits the "fairing" design from the Avata series, which is crucial for panoramic aerial photography. When you want to fly close to models or indoor furniture, the Avata 360's safety features inspire confidence, allowing it to maintain flight even in the event of minor collisions.

In contrast, Insta360's Antigravity A1 uses an open-blade design, which increases flight speed (up to 75 km/h), but makes operation significantly more difficult indoors or near crowds.

Imaging Flexibility: Panorama vs. Single Lens Dual-Purpose

The DJI Avata 360 supports turning the camera forward, functioning as a traditional 4K 60fps wide-angle drone, meaning creators don't need to change drones to shoot a stable set of landscape footage.

The Antigravity A1, on the other hand, is entirely focused on panoramas. Although its FlowState stabilization technology is very mature, if a traditional perspective is needed, it can only be cropped from the panorama material, which will result in a significant loss of image quality.

Software ecosystem and "shoot first, then frame"

Insta360 boasts the most powerful mobile app editing experience currently recognized in the industry. Its AI automatic framing and various creative templates (such as asteroid and invisible selfie stick effects) allow even beginners to quickly create videos.

DJI Studio appears to be more "productivity-oriented." While it can process 8K footage extremely quickly on PC and supports intelligent subject tracking, it is currently slightly inferior to Insta360 in terms of the richness of creative features on mobile devices.

Price and Purchase Recommendations

DJI Avata 360: The suggested retail price for the unit alone starts at NT$12790, while bundles including either the goggles or the controller are NT$24990 each.

Insta360 Antigravity A1: The standard bundle has a suggested retail price of NT$39900, while the unlimited bundle has a suggested retail price of NT$52990.

While DJI may seem to have an advantage in terms of standalone price, its diverse range of optional accessories (such as adding a traditional RC 2 controller) can quickly increase the overall budget.

Analysis of viewpoints

This battle of panoramic aerial photography is essentially a competition between "professional flying tools" and "creative imaging installations".

If you are an FPV racing enthusiast or a commercial photographer, the DJI Avata 360, with its large 1.1-inch sensor, support for single-lens mode, and seamless compatibility with existing DJI ecosystem accessories such as the N3 Goggles and RC 2 controller, along with its omnidirectional obstacle avoidance and propeller protection design, greatly expands the "safety boundaries" for panoramic shooting.

For vloggers or individual creators who prioritize portability, the Insta360 Antigravity A1's 249-gram weight advantage remains irreplaceable. In many countries, this difference of over 200 grams determines whether users need to register on government websites or apply for flight permits. Coupled with Insta360's almost "foolproof" AI editing app, the A1 still holds unique appeal for those who simply want to quickly share dynamic videos on social media.

It's worth noting that DJI's counterattack is clearly aimed at "image quality" and "safety." With the popularization of 8K panoramic technology, both of these products signify that the traditional "manual camera movement" is gradually being replaced by "panoramic post-production" in the FPV first-person perspective field.
