Future GPX Cyber Formula, a classic anime series set in the near future, is about to celebrate its 35th anniversary. With official authorization from Bandai Namco Filmworks, and with teams from Taiwan's Hongming Technology, Japan, and Hong Kong working together to build the actual car, Jiahe Creative has announced a special Taiwan season-long event in Kaohsiung's New Bay Area starting in 2026.

The most anticipated highlight is the 0:1 scale prototype "ν-Asurada AKF-1/T," which is based on the ν-Asurada AKF-35/G in the animation and features "automatic transformation, AI interaction, and drivability." It is expected to be officially unveiled in 2026 and will become the world's first dynamic, transformable, and talking Thunderbolt car.

The real world's "Asura" is about to be born!
The completed 1:3 scale "Front Four-Wheel Steering Mechanism Prototype" features the anime's iconic six-wheel chassis and four-wheel steering. It's also expected to incorporate a body transformation system and a futuristic cockpit design. The cockpit will also feature "Asurada AI," an AI voice control system developed in collaboration with Barking Dog AI. This will allow fans to interact with the virtual "Asura" and recreate the bond between the race car and driver from the anime.

Grand opening in Kaohsiung New Bay Area in 2026
Organizers have announced that the 35th Anniversary of "Thunderbolt" - Today I Have No Limits - Taiwan Special Project will be grandly exhibited in Kaohsiung's New Bay Area in the summer of 2026. It will include real-car dynamic performances, exhibition experiences, virtual racing simulations, fan exchange activities, limited screenings, and a wealth of peripheral merchandise sales. It is expected to become one of the largest animation commemorative events in Taiwan and even Asia.
A fan's dream of integrating animation and technology
The ν-Asurada AKF-35/T production project brings together technical teams from Taiwan and Japan, integrating animation design with real-world mechanical engineering to achieve the feat of "bringing an animated racing car into the real world." Adam, CEO of Jiahe Creative, stated that this project is more than just a mere exhibit; rather, it leverages cross-disciplinary collaboration across AI, electromechanics, and vehicle dynamics to create a "real-life Thunderbolt car" capable of actual operation. He hopes to bring fans of the series together around the world to witness the touching intersection of technology and childhood memories.

Various co-branded products and commemorative contents will be released soon
To complement this special project, Bandai Namco Filmworks will collaborate on a series of limited-edition merchandise, including figures, apparel, stationery, and daily essentials. Details of the collaboration will be announced soon. Special co-branded video games and digital interactive content are also expected, expanding the future of the "Thunderbolt Racer" franchise across various media platforms.
