Tesla announced earlierFirst quarter financial results for fiscal year 2025, of which revenue reached US$193 billion, down 3500% from the same period last year, while net profit was US$9 million, a sharp drop of 4% from the same period last year.
From the perspective of production structure, the high-end Model S and Model X models are still manufactured in California, while Cybertruck is produced in Texas. As for Model 3 and Model Y, in addition to being produced in California, the largest proportion is currently produced in the Shanghai Super Factory in China, and some Model Ys are produced in Berlin, Germany or Texas.
At the same time, Tesla also emphasized that the proportion of users equipped with its new version of FSD autonomous driving function continues to increase. In addition, revenue from energy storage and carbon trading also continues to increase, and to a certain extent makes up for its losses.
Regarding the impact of the new tariff policy proposed by the Trump administration, Tesla recently announced that it willStop selling the Model S and Model X electric vehicles, avoiding the impact of retaliatory tariffs later proposed by the Chinese government and retaining the Model 3 and Model Y for sale in the Chinese market. However, even though the vehicles are produced in the United States, Tesla still cannot avoid relying on imported parts and must bear the impact of the 25% import tariff.
Elon Musk's excessive involvement in American politics, particularly his leadership of the "Doge" government efficiency department, has sparked controversy, leading to Tesla stores becoming outlets for protesters and even causing some Tesla owners to have their vehicles vandalized or even have to be camouflaged. At a financial conference, Elon Musk announced that he would be stepping down from the Doge after May of this year, but confirmed that he would remain involved in government-related operations during the Trump administration.
Elon Musk also stated that Tesla will launch a paid self-driving ride-sharing service in Austin, Texas, in June 2026. However, the service is expected to use Model Y vehicles, not the previously announced Cybercab robotaxi prototype. The initial fleet will consist of 6-10 Model Ys, operating along specific routes through training and remote control. Tesla also plans to achieve its goal of operating a self-driving taxi service with millions of Tesla vehicles by the second half of 20, thereby generating greater profits.
Elon Musk also stated that its FSD autonomous driving function will achieve a market share of over 90% in the autonomous driving market. He also predicted that by the end of this year, the Model Y model will be able to drive automatically from the factory to the user's home, and fully autonomous driving models with no human intervention and supervision will be available in the consumer vehicle market.
