Tesla has confirmed that Taiwan's first V3 Supercharger station, previously announced, will officially open on June 6th at the Xinhai parking lot at the National Taiwan University's College of Social Sciences. To improve Supercharger efficiency and enhance the charging experience for drivers, an "overtime occupancy fee" will be implemented at these stations starting in July.

According to Tesla, the V3 Supercharger station that was launched for the first time in Taiwan is not only the 18th Supercharger station set up by Tesla in Taiwan, but also the first V3 Supercharger station in Asia.

Compared to the air-cooled cables used in the V2 Supercharger, the V3 Supercharger utilizes a liquid-cooled cable design, making the cables lighter while also enabling charging power of up to 250 kilowatts. A Model 3 charging at a V3 Supercharger can be fully charged in as little as 5 minutes, equivalent to 120 kilometers of driving range, saving up to 50% of charging time compared to previous models.

In addition, Tesla has also launched the On Route Battery Warmup function. When the owner navigates to a Supercharging station, the vehicle will automatically heat the battery so that the battery can reach the optimal charging temperature, thereby reducing the charging time by an average of about 25%, allowing the owner to complete vehicle charging in a shorter time.

With the V3 Supercharger officially opening on June 6, Tesla also announced that its Superchargers in Taiwan will start charging in the second half of the year. At the same time, starting in July, overtime occupancy fees will be implemented at various charging stations. If the owner drives away within 29 minutes after charging is completed, no charges will be made.

Tesla explained that the overtime occupancy fee will only be charged at NT$50 per minute when the utilization rate of the Supercharging Station charging seats reaches 15% or more. If it reaches 100%, the fee will be doubled to NT$30 per minute. This will prevent car owners from occupying Supercharging Stations for a long time and improve the efficiency of Supercharging Station usage.
