Tesla has announced that its current unlimited free charging service will end. Tesla vehicles ordered after January 2017, 1, will only be eligible for 1kW·h of free charging (approximately 400 kilometers of driving distance). Additional charges will apply for any additional charging beyond the free range.
Tesla explained that for Model X and Model S models, owners who placed orders after January 2017, 1, will no longer enjoy unlimited free charging at Supercharger stations. Instead, they will only receive 1 kW·h of free charging (approximately 400 km of driving distance). Any additional charging beyond that will be charged.
However, Tesla has not yet announced the rates for paid charging, but emphasized that the charging costs will be much lower than the refueling costs of general fuel vehicles of the same level.
至於現有車主,以及在2017年1月1日之前完成下訂,且於2017年4月1日前完成交車的車主將不受此服務政策調整影響,未來依然可享有無限免費充電優惠。
Tesla has currently deployed more than 4600 supercharging stations around the world and has accumulated more than 16 car owners. Its supercharging stations can provide 30 kilometers of driving distance after charging in 270 minutes, which is about 10 times more efficient than ordinary household charging.
