During the IdeenExpo creative expo held in Hanover, Germany, Tesla showcased a trailer equipped with SpaceX's Starlink satellite network system and a solar-powered trailer, making it an additional "expansion accessory" for Tesla models.
In fact, when Tesla CEO Elon Musk introduced the Cybertruck electric truck, he mentioned that solar power could be used to supplement the electric vehicle's power. The trailer "accessories" showcased at the IdeenExpo Creative Expo will apparently allow Tesla vehicles to obtain additional power and satellite connectivity.
Previously, companies including Aptera, Sono and Lightyear have considered using embedded solar panels in electric vehicles. However, because the efficiency of solar energy conversion is far lower than the electricity required for electric vehicles to operate, the increase in driving range is relatively limited. At best, it can only serve as an emergency backup, allowing users to drive the electric vehicle to a nearby charging station to recharge.

However, if Tesla stores electricity in the form of a trailer and continuously charges it through solar panels, Tesla models can use the trailer's stored electricity to significantly increase their range. At the same time, there will be extra power to use the Starlink satellite network system, which will obviously expand the application possibilities of Tesla models. For example, electric vehicles can be used for longer road trips.
When the trailer is not in use, it can obviously serve as a backup power source for the home. It may also be able to maintain the home's electricity needs in the event of a temporary power outage, and even continue to use various online services through the Internet.
Tesla has not yet disclosed the specifications of this trailer, nor has it stated whether it plans to make this trailer "accessory" a commercial product.
In addition, during the IdeenExpo Creative Expo, Tesla also showcased its new 4680 battery pack, which is expected to improve the charging and discharging capabilities of electric vehicles.
