Huawei hints at its upcoming Pura series phones, which are "both phones and more"

Huawei is expected to unveil its Pura series phones, powered by a new version of the native HarmonyOS operating system, on the afternoon of March 20th. Earlier, Yu Chengdong, Chairman of Huawei's Consumer Business Group, revealed on Weibo that this series of phones will be "both a phone and more than just a phone." While Huawei has not confirmed this, judging from the product line design, the Pura series should be a continuation of Huawei's previous Pocket series. Therefore, this series may continue the foldable screen design, allowing the phone to adapt to different usage modes. On the other hand, Huawei may also adopt a completely different screen design for the Pura series, perhaps a stretchable or rollable screen, but this is currently unconfirmed. In addition to the Pura series phones, Huawei is also expected to launch more products powered by the new HarmonyOS operating system, which may include PCs equipped with a new self-developed processor.

Huawei confirmed that it will unveil the nova brand's first foldable phone on August 8th, which will be called nova Flip.

Following the previous launch of several foldable screen phones under the Huawei brand, Huawei has confirmed that it will unveil its first foldable screen phone under the nova brand in the Chinese market at 7 PM on August 5th, named nova Flip. The nova Flip will be a vertically foldable phone, but unlike other brands' vertically foldable phones which are gradually increasing the external screen size, it will adopt a smaller screen design. The internal foldable display is expected to be 6.7 or 6.8 inches. Specific details are expected to be officially revealed later. Currently, Huawei has only announced that the nova Flip will be available in four colors: New Green, Cherry Blossom Pink, Zero White, and Starry Black, with Jackson Yee as the product ambassador. The phone will also run the new HarmonyOS operating system. As for pricing, the nova Flip is expected to be more affordable than Huawei's previous Pocket series phones, but the price is expected to be slightly higher than the nova candybar phones.

Huawei unveils its new foldable phone, the P50 Pocket S, targeting a more affordable price point.

Huawei recently teased the upcoming P50 Pocket S, a new phone with a hemispherical foldable screen, and has now officially released details of the device. In terms of design, the P50 Pocket S retains the P50 Pocket's shape, featuring a 6.9-inch hemispherical OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 300Hz touch response time. The weight remains at 190 grams, and the thickness is a mere 7.2mm. However, unlike the P50 Pocket, the back cover lacks the textured design of the P50 Pocket, opting instead for a smoother surface. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 4G processor, and due to the US-China trade war, it only supports 4G LTE connectivity. It comes with 8GB of RAM and three storage options: 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The battery is a 4000mAh capacity and supports 40W wired fast charging. The camera features a 10.7-megapixel front-facing camera, paired with a 40-megapixel wide-angle lens with an RYYB pixel arrangement, and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. It also incorporates a 10-channel multispectral sensor and a laser autofocus system. The phone's 1.04-inch circular external screen can be used to view the image during selfies. The P50 Pocket S is expected to be available for pre-order in the Chinese market starting today, offering six color options: black, silver, gold, pink, green, and blue. The suggested retail prices are RMB 5988, RMB 6488, and RMB 7488 respectively. There are currently no plans to launch it in other markets.

The new version of Firefox browser begins to add paged advertising content Mozilla: increase user communication mode

Although not yet an official browser feature, Mozilla appears to be incorporating ads into its tabbed content to generate additional revenue and partnership opportunities. Many users on Reddit have reported seeing ads appearing in the new Firefox browser's tabs, but this isn't currently available to all users; it seems to be a test campaign by Mozilla targeting specific users. However, Mozilla has responded by stating that this feature is not used for advertising but rather as an interface to communicate with users, and users can manually disable it through settings. According to Mozilla, this "Snippets" feature is essentially the same as the Pocket recommendation feature previously implemented in Firefox, primarily using push notifications of various offers and information to thank users who have used Firefox for a long time. However, to the average user, this content is essentially indistinguishable from advertising, as it's presented in partnership with Firefox, and Mozilla is expected to generate advertising revenue or other partnership opportunities from these content partners. Users can disable the display of "Snippets" ads through settings.

Mozilla acquires web article curation service Pocket, plans to integrate it with Firefox as open source

Mozilla recently announced its acquisition of the Pocket development team, which is widely used online content organization services. This will make Pocket an open-source product within Mozilla, potentially making it easier for users to read web content through the Firefox browser. Pocket, a service available on iOS, Android, and PC browser platforms, primarily provides convenient content organization by allowing users to access and read saved web content across different devices. Following the acquisition, it will also be integrated with the Firefox browser as an open-source product. Despite the acquisition, Pocket will continue to operate independently, with its existing offices, staff, and services remaining unchanged.
