Tesla achieved "fully automated delivery" for the first time, with the driverless Model Y completing the 30-minute journey from the factory to the user's door.

Following the launch of its robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, Tesla, as Elon Musk had previously teased, announced the successful delivery of its first fully autonomous vehicle from the factory to a customer's home. The entire process was driverless, remotely controlled, and without a safety driver. Tesla released a video showcasing the fully autonomous delivery at its "X" event, and CEO Elon Musk posted that a Model Y vehicle successfully traveled from the Gigafactory Texas in Austin, Texas, to a customer's home. Musk emphasized that there was no remote operator intervention and that the delivery was completed using true Level 4 or higher autonomous driving technology. Xiaomi's YU7 series SUV electric vehicle has announced its pricing, featuring a "Skyline Display," a high-efficiency electric drive platform, and an 800V high-voltage platform design.

The Xiaomi YU7 series of SUV electric vehicles, which announced its specific specifications in late May and is expected to go on sale in the Chinese market in July, received further details at this "Human, Car, and Home Ecosystem" launch event. The event also confirmed its actual sales price in the Chinese market. The YU7 series is divided into three versions: YU7, YU7 Pro, and YU7 Max. Its main comparison is with various versions of the Tesla Model Y. The YU7 is equipped with a single Xiaomi V6s Plus motor with a 22000 rpm power reserve, accelerating to 100 km/h in just 5.88 seconds. The YU7 Pro and YU7 Max both feature a dual-motor, four-wheel-drive design, with the YU7 Max offering a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 3.23 seconds. Compared to the SU7 series' coupe-like design, the YU7 series adopts a more practical SUV form with a larger interior space. The vehicles measure 4999 x 1996 x 1600mm each, with a wheelbase of 3000mm and a drag coefficient of Cd 0.245. A rear tire width of up to 275mm is available as an option. The body also features power-operated inward-opening door handles and frameless rearview mirrors, along with hollowed-out teardrop headlights and ring taillights. It is available in three colors: Emerald Green, Titanium, and Lava Orange. All models are equipped with continuously variable damping shock absorbers and 4-piston fixed calipers, while the YU7 Pro and YU7 Max feature closed dual-chamber air springs for improved vehicle stability. Regarding the electronic systems, the YU7 series features an upgraded 4-in-1 control module, utilizing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor as the intelligent cockpit processor. Tesla adds Model Y to its leasing program to attract more orders

Tesla adds Model Y to its leasing program to attract more orders

To stimulate more car purchases, Tesla has added its affordable SUV, the Model Y, to its vehicle leasing program in the United States, allowing users to rent it for $499 per month. To lease a Model Y, users must pay $499 per month plus a $4500 upfront fee for a 36-month lease, covering 10,000 miles (approximately 16,100 kilometers). Over a 36-month lease, users can use the Model Y for approximately $18,000 over three years. Prior to this, Tesla had increased Model Y production capacity in the US and lowered the price to below $50,000 to attract more buyers. Including the Model Y in the leasing program is primarily aimed at increasing orders. Leasing programs are typically offered by automakers to attract buyers, making it easier for users to purchase a car and encouraging them to upgrade when new models are released. The Model Y is positioned slightly higher than the Model 3 and is smaller than the Model X, lacking the gull-wing liftgate design. However, it still seats seven, and its interior features are similar to the Model 3, including a panoramic sunroof and a large central touchscreen display. The battery is also located at the bottom of the vehicle. Because it's designed for SUV use, it prioritizes stability over high-speed performance, but it can still accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 241 km/h.

Tesla unveils the latest addition to its "S3XY" lineup, the Model Y, targeting the more affordable SUV electric vehicle market.

As previously announced, Tesla has officially revealed details of the Model Y, part of its "S3XY (SEXY)" series, confirming its positioning as a 7-seater SUV. Pricing starts at $39,000, with a maximum range of up to 300 miles (approximately 480 kilometers). Positioned slightly higher than the previously released Model 3, and smaller than the Model X, it lacks the gull-wing hatchback design. However, the Model Y still comfortably seats seven, and its interior features are similar to the Model 3, including a panoramic sunroof and a large central touchscreen display. The battery is also located at the bottom of the vehicle. Given its focus on SUV needs, the overall design prioritizes stability over high-speed performance, but it still accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 241 km/h. The newly launched Model Y is basically divided into four versions: Standard Range, Long Range, Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Performance. The top-of-the-line version is priced at $60,000, while the basic Standard Range version starts at $39,000, which translates to approximately NT$1.2 million. However, the maximum range is reduced to 230 miles (about 370 kilometers), and the acceleration time from 0 to 60 mph is 5.9 seconds. According to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the Standard Range version of the Model Y could begin shipping as early as spring 2021, with mass production expected in the second half of this year. The other versions will be available in the fall of 2020, but all models are available for pre-order starting today. Musk also revealed that the Model Y will also receive the full version of Full Self-Driving capabilities, and other models can be upgraded via software updates. However, these features are still subject to approval by relevant US regulatory agencies, and the actual release date of the update is not yet confirmed. Regarding the progress of the Supercharger network for Tesla vehicles, Tesla stated that there are currently over 1400 charging stations in 36 countries and regions worldwide, with a cumulative total of over 12000 chargers (in Taiwan, charging stations have now been extended to the Hualien and Taitung areas). The faster 3.0 version charger will also be deployed at various charging stations in succession.

Tesla officially confirmed that the new Model Y will be unveiled at 3 noon Taiwan time on March 15th.

Tesla officially confirmed that the new Model Y will be unveiled at 3 noon Taiwan time on March 15th.

The previously teased Model Y has been officially confirmed by Tesla to be unveiled at 8 PM on March 14th (March 15th at 12 PM Taiwan time). Prior to this, Tesla CEO Elon Musk had already hinted at the Model Y's release date in a recent Twitter post; this announcement further confirms the specific time. From the teaser images, the Model Y appears similar in appearance to the Model 3, but is positioned between the Model 3 and Model X. Its dimensions are 10% larger than the Model 3, but it will not feature the same gull-wing doors as the Model X, and its price will be slightly higher than the Model 3. Regarding battery performance, the Model Y is expected to use the same new 21700 battery pack as the Model 3 and support the new Supercharger V3.0 system, with a maximum charging power of 250kW, thereby reducing average charging time. However, due to the Model Y's relatively larger body design, its actual driving range will be slightly less than the Model 3. As previously stated, Tesla indicated that with the increased battery module production capacity at its Gigafactory 1, the Model Y could achieve a production capacity of up to 7000 units per week in the future. Furthermore, the establishment of its Shanghai factory in China would allow for an annual production capacity of 250,000 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles. Recent developments, including a significant price reduction, have sparked discontent among many Tesla owners. However, given Tesla's continued efforts to promote its energy network service platform and attract more users, coupled with its existing buyback guarantee program, the substantial price cuts appear to be a strategy to expand its customer base rather than simply a survival tactic.
