Apple brings Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro to iPad, making video creation more mobile

Apple announced that Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro are coming to the iPad, allowing professional videographers to intuitively edit video content using the iPad's multi-touch capabilities. The iPad's portability and long battery life also enable quick recording, editing, and professional-grade music editing. Unlike the Mac versions, which are sold on a one-time purchase basis, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro for iPad are available as subscriptions for NT$150 per month or NT$1490 per year, with a free first month trial. In addition to the intuitive multi-touch functionality, Final Cut Pro and Logic Pro allow users to draw directly on the iPad using the "Instant Drawing" feature with Apple Pencil. On the iPad Pro with the M2 processor, users can also view or preview video content directly using the pen's hover function. Additionally, users can use the Magic Keyboard or Smart Keyboard Folio to expedite workflows with key commands, and even view HDR videos on the 12.9-inch iPad Pro's Liquid Retina XDR display, checking color accuracy via Reference Mode. Users can also shoot high-quality videos in Pro Camera Mode or ProRes format videos on the iPad Pro with the M2 processor, automatically syncing multiple clips using the Multi-Lens Video Editing feature and switching between different shooting angles via touch. The editing process leverages the computing power of the Apple Silicon processor and machine learning to speed up processing that would otherwise take a long time. For example, the Scene Removal Mask feature allows for quick background removal, the Auto Crop feature adjusts video aspect ratios, and the Voice Isolation feature removes background noise. To meet the needs of video creation, the iPad version of Final Cut Pro can add visual images, effects, and audio content from the media library, or import video footage from files and photos. It can also import iMovie editing projects from iOS and export Final Cut Pro projects from the iPad version to a Mac for further editing.
