HPE Completes Acquisition of Juniper Networks, Delivering a Comprehensive, Industry-Leading Cloud-Native, AI-Powered Portfolio
Following its acquisition announcement earlier this year, HPE has officially completed its acquisition of networking solutions provider Juniper Networks. This acquisition expands HPE's footprint in AI-native networking and cloud-native solutions, further strengthening its position in the hybrid cloud and AI networking infrastructure market, and moving towards its strategic goal of building a complete secure network IP stack. HPE President and CEO Antonio Neri stated, "This acquisition marks a significant milestone for HPE in its next-generation IT transformation, integrating AI and networking technologies to provide enterprise users with new options for modern architectures." Going forward, HPE will leverage Juniper Networks' technological strengths, including data centers, firewalls, routers, and AI-driven automated management, to further expand its market advantages in global enterprise networking, Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), and hybrid cloud. Rami Rahim, former CEO of Juniper Networks, will become head of HPE's networking business after the acquisition, emphasizing that the combination will bring "new networking solutions built for AI applications that combine security and resilience," aiming to help customers address the increasingly complex and data-intensive hybrid AI workloads. This transaction will multiply HPE's networking business, representing a concrete result of HPE's recent strategic shift from traditional hardware sales to higher-margin, continuously growing areas. Going forward, the two companies will collaborate across a comprehensive stack, encompassing network chips, hardware, operating systems, security, software, and services. Utilizing AI and cloud-native architectures, they will help enterprises quickly deploy AI and hybrid cloud applications, simplifying end-to-end network deployment and management. HPE also anticipates that integrating Juniper Networks' technology with its global sales and support teams will expand the market reach of Juniper Networks products and, by combining the strengths of both companies, penetrate large markets such as data centers, telecommunications, and enterprise networks, capturing more growth momentum. This acquisition was first announced in January 2024 and received approval from Juniper Networks shareholders in April. Now that the transaction is officially complete, Juniper Networks' stock, previously listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as "JNPR," will be delisted and officially become an important business unit under HPE.
