Reports suggest Apple has no plans to reintroduce iPhone models smaller than 6 inches
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman points out that Apple currently has no plans to reintroduce iPhone models smaller than 6 inches, meaning that the previously released iPhone mini will not have a successor at this stage. ▲iPhone 12 mini Apple first launched the iPhone 12 series in 2020, simultaneously releasing the smaller iPhone 12 mini, followed by the iPhone 13 mini the following year. However, with the release of the iPhone 14 series in 2022, the iPhone 14 Plus replaced the original mini design, marking a shift to a 6.3-inch or larger screen size for all iPhone models. While many market observers believed that the mini model would help boost iPhone sales, it ultimately proved to be more hype than substance. Furthermore, although a Plus model was subsequently released to address the demand for larger screen sizes, it failed to stimulate market sales. Therefore, Apple may replace the mini model with a lighter and thinner iPhone 17 Air this fall, with a price likely around $900, similar to the Plus model's price point. Given the poor market response, Apple is clearly not considering launching a mini version of the iPhone again. Therefore, not only will we not see the iPhone 17 mini this year, but Apple is also not expected to launch the iPhone 18 mini next year.
