DJI Mini 5 Pro Introduced: Featuring a 1-inch sensor and nighttime LiDAR sensing, it enhances low-light photography and subject tracking.
DJI introduces its new generation of lightweight flagship drone, the Mini 5 Pro. Maintaining its compact design of less than 250 grams, it features a first-ever 1-inch, 5000-megapixel sensor, enabling cleaner images and greater detail in low-light conditions. A forward-facing LiDAR sensor further enhances flight safety, allowing for obstacle detection and return-to-home functionality even at night or in low light. While slightly larger and taller than its predecessor, the Mini 4 Pro, the Mini 5 Pro maintains a weight of 249.9 grams, allowing for flight use without a permit. The newly added front-facing LiDAR sensor enables obstacle avoidance in low-light conditions (as low as 1 lux) and supports low-light return-to-home functionality when GPS signal is insufficient. The drone also features an omnidirectional obstacle avoidance sensor, combined with ActiveTrack 360 omnidirectional intelligent tracking technology, ensuring safe flight in confined spaces or during movement. The biggest highlight of this upgrade is its photography capabilities. The new 1-inch sensor is the same as the one in the Air 3S, offering a wider dynamic range and cleaner shadow detail. It supports up to 4K 120fps video recording and 10-bit D-LogM color mode, and the manufacturer claims it supports up to 14 stops of dynamic range for easier post-production color grading. Digital zoom has been increased to 2x and supports near-lossless resolution magnification. An enhanced portrait mode has also been added for more natural skin tones. The gimbal design has also evolved, allowing for a maximum rotation of 225 degrees for true vertical shooting (no longer cropped). It supports a one-click video "rotate" sub-mode, waypoint flight, time-lapse photography, and other shooting modes. The upgraded ActiveTrack 360 technology maintains more stable camera movement when tracking fast-moving subjects such as bicycles and runners. As for battery life, a single battery provides 36 minutes of flight time, and with a long-life battery, it can reach up to 52 minutes. Additionally, when paired with the two-way charging hub and a 65W charger, it can fully charge three batteries in approximately 115 minutes, significantly improving efficiency. The DJI Mini 5 Pro is currently available in markets such as Taiwan, with prices starting at NT$22090 in Taiwan, including accessories such as the RC-N3 controller. The Fly More Combo, which includes the RC-2 controller with a screen and two additional batteries, has a suggested retail price of NT$31690.
