Xreal updates its entry-level AR glasses, the "1S," with upgrades in both resolution and brightness, and a price reduction.
For consumers still undecided about purchasing "Personal Cinema" glasses, Xreal announced an update to its entry-level product line at CES 2026, launching the new Xreal 1S. This product is the successor to the Xreal One, launching at the end of 2024, featuring minor upgrades in specifications but at a more affordable price than its predecessor. Xreal 1S: More for the Same Price, Wider and Brighter Vision. The Xreal 1S is a wearable spatial display that connects to a phone, tablet, laptop, or game console via USB-C. Using a miniature display within the glasses, it projects a virtual screen in front of the user, ranging from 171 inches to up to 500 inches. The entire pair of glasses weighs only 89 grams, and the audio is developed in collaboration with Bose. The upgrades to the Xreal 1S are "detailed optimizations," improving key specifications of the previous generation: • Resolution: Upgraded from 1080p to 1200p Full HD. • Aspect Ratio: Adjusted from 16:9 to a more productivity-friendly 16:10. • Brightness: Increased from 600 nits to 700 nits, resulting in clearer display in bright environments. • Field of View (FOV): Slightly increased from 50 degrees to 52 degrees. Most importantly, the Xreal 1S has a suggested retail price of $449 (approximately NT$1.45), $50 cheaper than its predecessor.
