POCO F8 series unveiled, Ultra version features Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 5x periscope telephoto lens, tuned in collaboration with Bose.

POCO held an international launch event in Bali to announce its new flagship POCO F8 series and confirmed its official introduction to the Taiwan market. The F8 series debuts with a comprehensive "buff stacking" effect, featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor in the POCO F8 Ultra, audio-visual experience co-tuned with Bose, and a 5x periscope telephoto lens for the first time. The Redmi K90 Pro Max international version has been transformed, with subtle design tweaks for a more "POCO" feel. It's worth noting that the POCO F8 Ultra is essentially the Redmi K90 Pro Max, which was unveiled in the Chinese market in late October this year. While the core hardware specifications are almost identical, POCO has adjusted design details to suit international market preferences, and the software comes pre-loaded with a customized Xiaomi HyperOS 3 international interface. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, the POCO F8 Ultra achieves an AnTuTu score exceeding 390...

Redmi K90 Pro Max unveiled, featuring Bose 2.1-channel audio, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and a 7560mAh battery

Redmi announced the launch of its K90 series flagship smartphones, including the K90 Pro Max and the standard K90. The K90 Pro Max emphasizes "acoustics" as its biggest selling point, not only inviting artist Eason Chan to be its "Acoustic Ambassador," but also collaborating with Bose for the first time to integrate a dedicated 7W subwoofer on the back of the phone, paired with dual speakers at the top and bottom to create a 2.1-channel stereo system. The K90 Pro Max features a Bose subwoofer and a Real RGB OLED display panel. In terms of design, the K90 Pro Max's back cover echoes the Xiaomi 17 Pro, offering black and white versions with a standard glass material, as well as a "Denim Edition" with a vegan leather material that gives it a denim-like look. The phone weighs 218 grams and is only 7.9mm thick. Redmi emphasizes that the additional subwoofer opening does not affect its IP68 dust and water resistance rating. Regarding the screen, the K90 Pro Max uses the same 6.9-inch Real RGB OLED display panel as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, with a resolution of 2608 x 1200. Redmi points out that because this new technology has a complete RGB sub-pixel arrangement and can emit light independently, it can effectively reduce pixel density loss, making its 420 PPI display density performance comparable to a 2K resolution display panel, but with potentially lower power consumption than a 1.5K resolution display panel. Core specifications: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 7560mAh battery. In terms of core hardware, Redmi...

Bose launches new flagship QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, featuring lossless sound quality and improved battery life.

Bose has announced an update to its second-generation flagship over-ear noise-canceling headphones, the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, featuring comprehensive upgrades in sound quality, active noise cancellation (ANC), battery life, and design, while maintaining the same price of $449 as its predecessor. They will officially launch on October 2nd. Supporting lossless audio via USB-C wired connection, the new QuietComfort Ultra Headphones can output 16-bit/44.1kHz or 48kHz audio quality and features low latency, making them suitable for gaming on desktop or mobile devices. Bose has also added a "Cinema Mode" to its Immersive Audio spatial sound technology, creating a wider front soundstage by rebalancing background and sound effects, resulting in clearer dialogue. This is suitable for movies, TV shows, and even podcasts and audiobooks, while delivering deeper bass, more natural high frequencies, and consistent clarity for general music playback. Noise Cancellation and Transparency Mode Evolved: Bose continues the same active noise cancellation feature as the QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds in the new headphones, notably adding an Aware Transparency mode that handles changes in ambient noise more smoothly, such as sudden sirens. Users can choose to completely disable active noise cancellation or manually adjust it to the most suitable level. Bose has also reduced the background noise during active noise cancellation operation, making it more natural to use in quiet environments. Battery Life Improved: Battery life is also a key focus of this upgrade, offering up to 30 hours of continuous use with active noise cancellation enabled and up to 45 hours with noise cancellation disabled. Even with Immersive Audio enabled throughout, it supports 24 hours of playback time, and the headphones also support charging while using. Furthermore, the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones feature a smart power-saving function: automatically entering standby mode when laid flat or stored in the case, and immediately resuming playback when put back in using improved sensors. In terms of design details and new color options, Bose has redesigned the headband joints with polished metal, replacing the previous flat finish for a more premium look. Two new colors, Driftwood Sand and Midnight Violet, have been added, bringing the total to four options including the existing black and white. A flagship experience without a price increase...

Motorola and Swarovski create a luxurious Razr Pantone Ice Melt foldable phone, adopting a strategy of increasing quantity without increasing price to enter the premium market.

Motorola has partnered with luxury crystal brand Swarovski to release a special edition Razr Pantone Ice Melt foldable phone, adding a touch of glamour to its classic retro design. Based on the recently released Motorola Razr 60, the new phone features a redesigned exterior and is adorned with 35 handcrafted Swarovski crystals. A large 26-faceted crystal even graces the hinge, further emphasizing its luxurious feel. This special edition Razr Pantone Ice Melt, a collaboration with Swarovski, will include the Moto Buds Loop open-back earbuds, also featuring Swarovski crystals and sound technology from Bose. The suggested retail price is $1000. However, since the standard Razr 60 is priced at $700 and the Moto Buds Loop open-back earphones at $300, this special edition Razr Pantone Ice Melt bundle can be purchased without additional cost. This special edition phone, featuring Swarovski crystal design, and the matching Swarovski crystal earphones are available for purchase on August 7th in the US market. As for hardware specifications, since the special edition is based on the standard Razr 60, it retains the 3.6-inch external screen, 6.9-inch foldable AMOLED main screen, MediaTek Dimensity 7400X processor, 4500mAh battery, and 50MP main camera. Motorola also revealed that this collaboration with Swarovski is just the beginning of the "Motorola Collections" series, with more customized collaborations with designers and fashion brands planned for the future, adding more "luxury" elements to its foldable phones. With smartphones becoming increasingly homogenized, Motorola clearly hopes to enhance brand recognition and attract consumers who value individuality and fashion with its foldable phones through high-profile design collaborations.

Bose acquires the McIntosh Group, which owns several audiophile brands, with the goal of expanding its product line and potentially strengthening its presence in the automotive market.

Bose has announced the acquisition of McIntosh Laboratory, a 75-year-old American manufacturer of handcrafted high-end audio equipment headquartered in Binghamton, New York, and Sonus faber, an Italian handcrafted audio brand founded in 1983. McIntosh Group also owns other high-end audio brands such as Fine Sounds Americas, Sumiko Phono Cartridges, Fine Sounds BeneLux, and Fine Sounds UK. Previously, McIntosh Group was held by Dallas-based equity firm Highlander Partners as part of its portfolio. This acquisition signifies a further expansion of Bose's high-end audio product portfolio and a move into the high-end audio market. Since McIntosh Group also partners with Maserati under the Sonus Faber brand and with Jeep under the McIntosh Laboratory brand, Bose may also be strengthening its presence in the automotive market. Currently, Bose's products primarily target the consumer market, offering headphones, single-driver speakers, home theater systems, and car audio systems. Therefore, the acquisition of the McIntosh Group could further expand its acoustic technology and potentially add more product lines. However, based on current public statements, Bose indicates that after acquiring the McIntosh Group, it will maintain the existing product lines for each brand, but expects some degree of integration in terms of technology.

Bose launches new portable wireless Bluetooth speaker SoundLink Home, but it can't adjust the EQ sound field

Bose has announced the new SoundLink Home, a portable wireless Bluetooth speaker. Featuring a lightweight design, it boasts up to 9 hours of continuous playback while maintaining clear, high-quality audio output. Weighing only about 0.88 kg and measuring just 8.5 inches (approximately 21.59 cm) at its longest, the SoundLink Home is easy to move around in. The speaker is made of anodized aluminum with a stylish design, making it suitable for home use. For sound, it utilizes Bose technology with dual passive radiators to deliver deeper bass and high-quality audio output. It supports Bluetooth 5.3 multi-point connectivity or wired input via USB-C and includes a built-in microphone for phone calls. Furthermore, the USB-C port can be used for digital input, charging, or wired connection to a second SoundLink Home speaker to create a stereo soundstage. The suggested retail price is $219, and it is currently available for order through the Bose website in gray and silver.
