Blizzard Entertainment said that it will not hold the BlizzCon event this year and will interact with players through other activities

Blizzard Entertainment announced that it will resume the BlizzCon event in September 2026

After a two-year hiatus from BlizzCon, Blizzard Entertainment recently announced the revival of the annual event in 2026. The only BlizzCon event held in physical form in recent years was in November 2023. Earlier events were moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and subsequently cancelled due to internal scandals. With Activision Blizzard's acquisition by Microsoft, Blizzard Entertainment, apparently undergoing organizational restructuring, suspended BlizzCon in 2024 and 2025. This year, however, it will be held on September 12-13, 2026 (Pacific Time), again at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. In addition to the opening ceremony, in-depth panel discussions, Darkmoon Faire, friendly matches, and game demos, Blizzard Entertainment stated that it will give this classic event a deeper meaning, emphasizing respect for the connection between players and the game world. More details will be released later.

Hearthstone's new expansion, Kobolds & Dungeons, will be available in December, adding a new single-player challenge mode.

During BlizzCon 2017, Blizzard Entertainment announced the new Hearthstone expansion, Kobolds & Catacombs, confirming "Call to Arms" as its key theme. The expansion is expected to launch in December, adding 135 new cards, and players will receive a legendary weapon upon their first login. The new single-player dungeon challenge mode, "Dungeon Rush," inspired by classic fantasy dungeon exploration, will take players on a high-risk, high-reward underground adventure. Players will start with a default deck for their chosen class and use it to fight a series of increasingly difficult opponents randomly selected from a variety of unique bosses. As the challenge progresses, players will acquire cards from defeated bosses and improve their decks, including powerful treasures that can only be found in dungeons. Losing any match will end the dungeon challenge. Kobolds & Catacombs will be available on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android devices. Players can win Kobolds & Catacombs card packs through the Hearthstone Arena, or purchase them with in-game gold or real money. The packs are priced the same as other Hearthstone card packs. From now until the expansion's release, eager treasure hunters can pre-order a Kobolds & Catacombs card pack containing 50 packs for NT$1,490 (one purchase per account), and receive a free "For the Treasure!" card back adorned with gems and sparkling brightly.
