ASUS's gaming brand ROG recently announced the world's first gaming headset featuring both electrostatic and neodymium magnet drivers, the ROG Theta Electret. It boasts compatibility with high-end DACs and amplifiers for purer, higher-resolution audio output, and is designed for demanding gaming needs. According to ASUS, the ROG Theta Electret features an ergonomic design with two different sizes and textures of ROG Hybrid reverse-D earcups. One is made of soft, skin-friendly 100% protein leather and a breathable, heat-dissipating mesh, while the other incorporates heat-dissipating fibers to reduce heat by 25% and alleviate pressure on the sides when wearing glasses, making it suitable for extended gaming sessions. Furthermore, the ROG Theta Electret uses Hi-Fi grade silver-plated copper wire for a wider soundstage and enhanced audio clarity, supporting high-resolution audio output. The professionally tuned detachable microphone is certified by apps including Discord and TeamSpeak. It features signal diversion technology to ensure undistorted voice communication during gameplay, and the microphone mute function can be controlled via buttons on the headset, allowing players to focus on the game without interruption. The ROG Theta Electret will be priced at NT$9900, and purchases made between April 27th and May 31st will include a free ROG Throne RGB headset stand.
