The famous "AI.com" domain name is being sold for as much as $1 million.

The Information website reports that the well-known domain name "AI.com" is seeking a sale, with a asking price of up to $100 million (approximately NT$32.89 billion). Larry Fischer, the senior manager responsible for facilitating the sale of this domain name, previously helped resell "Messenger.com" to Meta (then known as Facebook), "Skincare.com" to L'Oréal, "Teams.com" to Microsoft, and "Chat.com," after being sold to HubSpot co-founder Dharmesh Shah, was later sold to OpenAI. In the past, the "AI.com" domain name has led to various artificial intelligence services, most recently to the recently popular DeepSeek, and earlier to ChatGPT. Even Elon Musk's AI company xAI and Google's Gemini AI service briefly used the "AI.com" domain name to drive traffic. However, the owner of the "AI.com" domain name remains anonymous, and its validity will last until May 5, 2031. The registered location is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Larry Fischer believes that potential buyers of this domain name could be technology companies including OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and Meta. If the sale goes smoothly, it could potentially exceed the price MicroStrategy paid for the "Voice.com" domain name in 2019 for $30 million.
