Razer's Huntsman V3 Pro Mini optical mechanical keyboard is now available in white, also featuring Razer's second-generation optical switches.

Razer has announced a white version of its 60% optical mechanical keyboard, the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini. Inheriting the frameless design of the black version, it also features Razer's second-generation optical switches, with the main difference being the white keycaps and white base. The Huntsman V3 Pro Mini adopts a 60% layout, eliminating the traditional top F-keys and the arrow keys in the lower right corner, as well as the dedicated numeric keypad on the right, resulting in a clean and compact keyboard design perfectly suited for gaming. This compact design not only makes it easy to carry with gaming laptops but also allows for greater mouse movement during gameplay. The optical switches shorten the trigger response time and provide more stable and precise control compared to traditional Hall effect switches. Meanwhile, the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini features Razer's second-generation analog optical switches, utilizing optical methods for analog input. Razer emphasizes that the key reason for using analog optical switches instead of Hall effect sensors is precision. Hall effect sensors, which use magnetic force, can be affected by magnetic fields or temperature changes in accuracy, while analog optical switches are more stable. Furthermore, the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini boasts that it can be customized via key combinations without the need for additional software installation. This includes enabling Rapid Trigger, adjusting different key trigger modes, and even activating the faster Razer Snap Tap mode. Further settings can be adjusted using the Razer Synapse software. The suggested retail price is NT$6890 for the white version of the Huntsman V3 Pro Mini, available through the Razer website, the Syntrend flagship store, and other authorized retailers. The black version is currently priced at NT$4490.

Razer puts an optical keyboard into its new 15-inch Blade gaming laptop for faster response and better feel.

Razer puts an optical keyboard into its new 15-inch Blade gaming laptop for faster response and better feel.

Following its earlier application of optical switches to the Huntsman series mechanical keyboards and Viper mice, Razer has added this design option to the recently updated Blade 15 Advanced laptop, aiming to improve the key operation experience. The optical trigger principle simplifies the keyboard's key structure, increasing the actual actuation distance by 50% and enhancing the tactile feel with a 1.7mm travel distance, without adding extra weight like traditional mechanical designs. In terms of hardware specifications, the updated Blade 15 Advanced features a 15.6-inch screen supporting a 240Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution. Other hardware includes a dedicated graphics card with an Intel 9th generation Core i7-9750H processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Max-Q interface, along with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB NVMe SSD. Regarding the suggested retail price, the updated Blade 15 Advanced will be launched in the US market at $2649, with more specification options expected to be available in 2020.

Easy to play / The Razer Viper gaming mouse with the fastest response speed and lighter weight

Unveiled last month, the Razer Viper gaming mouse, featuring optically activated mechanical switches with shorter actuation times and a lighter design, is now available in Taiwan for a suggested retail price of NT$2790. Mashdigi has obtained a unit for a brief testing experience. Weighing only 69 grams, the Viper's overall weight is similar to the earlier symmetrical Abyssus mouse, but its grip is more akin to the later Lancehead. However, the Viper is wired only, unlike the Lancehead which can be used wirelessly. The Viper is entirely black, with matte plastic on the main buttons and the backrest to prevent hand sweat from affecting operation. Each side features two customizable auxiliary buttons with rubberized grip for enhanced anti-slip properties, allowing esports players to maintain a firm grip even during intense gameplay. As for the microswitches on the left and right main buttons, they both use Razer's own optically triggered mechanical switches, emphasizing a press response time of 0.2 milliseconds, which is 3 times faster than traditional mechanical switches. Besides eliminating accidental presses, they also boast a durability of up to 7000 million clicks, approximately 2000 million more than typical durable mechanical switches. Furthermore, the positioning system still uses Razer's own 5G optical positioning element, achieving an accuracy of 16000 DPI and up to 99.4% precision. The mouse's bottom slider is also customized to meet user needs, allowing for quick horizontal movement and precise left/right rotation, thus improving operational efficiency and maintaining high stability. The cable also uses braided material to prevent tangling during operation, and its length is sufficient for most uses. The mouse itself supports Razer Chroma multi-color backlighting technology, but the backlighting only includes the Razer logo on the arch. It also allows for customized button operation details via Razer Synapse 3. The Viper mouse features a symmetrical design, allowing for both right-handed and left-handed users to use it. The mouse surface is made of matte plastic to prevent hand sweat from affecting operation. The arch is also made of matte plastic, and when connected to a computer and powered on, the Razer backlit logo is displayed. There are two customizable auxiliary buttons on each side, covered with a rubber grip for a more stable grip. The cable is braided and retains a certain length for use. The bottom uses Razer's own 5G optical positioning element, achieving a precision of up to 16000 DPI and 99.4% accuracy. The bottom slider design also facilitates quick mouse operation.
