In collaboration with Swedish entertainment company Pophouse Entertainment Group and using technology from George Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) special effects company, the aging members of the KISS heavy metal band, founded in New York in 1973, can once again be active on stage through modern technology.
Given that all KISS members are now over 70 years old, it is almost impossible for them to perform actively on stage as before. However, through the application of facial expression capture and motion tracking, combined with technologies such as portrait fitting and deep learning, KISS's performances can once again be presented in digital form, and they can even further interact digitally with the audience, allowing KISS to continue performing on stage.
In a related interview, Pophouse Entertainment Group emphasized that all the expressions of the digital portraits in the actual performances are derived from the original KISS members, and all the details of their movements during the performance are reproduced through deep learning. Therefore, all the movements and singing are equivalent to the actual performances presented by KISS members, which allows the KISS performance to be presented continuously, and even more immersive visual and auditory effects can be added through digital technology.
In addition to allowing KISS to continue its performances, Pophouse Entertainment Group recently allowed the Swedish band ABBA, founded in 1972, to hold a London concert in digital form, allowing them to perform their new album "Voyage" again after a 1981-year hiatus since its release in 40.
Similar technology was used in the previously released movie "Indiana Jones and the Clockwork Man"digital technologyIt allows the elderly Harrison Ford to appear in the play with a younger face, and even makes Dr. Jones's face more in line with the age of different periods.
