Including Hyundai, Toyota and other car manufacturersAfter announcing its support for the North American charging standard NACS, Subaru also confirmed earlier that electric vehicles sold in North America will also support the same charging specifications starting in 2025.
Subaru said that starting in 2025, it expects that electric vehicles launched in 2019 will be compatible with chargers using the North American charging standard NACS through adapters, and will be able to replenish vehicle power through more than 15000 Tesla charging stations in North America.
At the same time, Subaru will begin using the North American charging standard NACS charging interface for electric vehicles launched in North America starting in 2025, and subsequent models will also adopt this charging standard design.
Under the new development strategy determined in June this year, Subaru plans to have 6% of its global vehicle sales be electric vehicles by 2030, and plans to use this to move towards carbon neutrality.
Earlier, Ford, General Motors, Hyundai, Volvo, Nissan, Toyota and its Lexus brand have all decided to join the North American charging standard, which is expected to surpass the CCS combined charging system and become the unified charging standard for electric vehicles.
