Stability AI earlier appointed Prem Akkaraju, former head of Weta Digital, as its new CEO, and Sean Parker, an Internet entrepreneur who founded Napster and served as president of Facebook, as executive director.
Prem Akkaraju previously led Weta Digital, which assisted in the special effects work for films such as the "Lord of the Rings" series, "King Kong," "The Chronicles of Narnia," "I, Robot," "Avatar," "Fast and Furious," and "Alita: Battle Angel," and whose reputation is rivaling that of Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic, is expected to bring further imaging expertise to Stability AI.
The addition of Sean Parker as Executive Director is expected to help Stability AI integrate more funding partnership opportunities.
Relevant news indicates that Stability AI has raised a new round of funds of approximately US$8000 million, and Prem Akkaraju and Sean Parker also participated in this round of funding.
