SpaceX last yearPartnering with T-Mobile, bySecond-generation Starlink satellite internet serviceAfter enabling mobile phones to access the Internet directly via satellite signals, the company will further cooperate with telecom operators on the technology of connecting mobile phones to satellite Internet services.
Jonathan Hofeller, vice president of Starlink, said that the company plans to begin testing satellite phone services this year. He did not disclose which carrier would be partnering with the service, but it's likely to be T-Mobile.
Currently, Starlink has begun using V2 Mini as a mobile phone base station, and claims to be able to connect to the Internet signal in all regions of the world without blind spots, so that more people in areas where mobile phone base stations and Internet signals are difficult to build can easily access the Internet.
At present, most telecom operators have a positive view on satellite Internet services, believing that they will be able to improve the inadequacy of traditional base stations and network construction, and promote the development of more IoT device applications through the characteristics of always-on connectivity, such as self-driving cars and robots.
