Related news claimsSony will launch the PlayStation 5 Pro before the end of this year, and has also revealed specific hardware specifications in related documents.
According to documents obtained from PlayStation platform developers, the hardware image rendering speed of PlayStation 5 Pro will be 5% faster than the standard version of PlayStation 45, and the efficiency of real-time ray tracing will be increased by 2-3 times, and even up to 4 times in certain cases.
In addition, Sony will add anti-aliasing image quality enhancement technology called "PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling" (PSSR), while also supporting image quality performance up to 8K specifications, further supporting artificial intelligence accelerators with a computing power of 300 TOPS (8-bit floating-point calculations) or 67 TFLOPS (16-bit floating-point calculations), and customized machine learning architecture.
Related news also revealed that PlayStation 5 Pro related development tools were already available to Sony's first-party game studios in September 2023, and began to be provided to third-party game studios and developers in January of this year, and it is expected to provide a test kit identical to the official sales version in the spring.
Prior to this, the PlayStation 5 Pro was reportedly codenamed "Trinity". Its main goal was to increase the number of frames per second displayed at 4K resolution, further improve 8K quality display performance, and enhance real-time ray tracing effects.
Current reports indicate that the PlayStation 5 Pro will be available for sale at the end of this year, but Sony has not yet confirmed this.
