Following its previous esports partnerships with Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile, and the addition of gaming functionality to its recent Xperia flagship phones, Sony Mobile today (September 9) announced the launch of the Xperia 12 IV Gamimg Edition, along with the Xperia Stream, a gaming-exclusive accessory, to expand its presence in the mobile gaming market.
The Xperia 1 IV Gamimg Edition is only available in black. It increases the memory to 16GB and the storage capacity to 512GB. It also comes with the Xperia Stream gaming kit, an exclusive gaming accessory developed specifically for the Xperia 1 IV. It cools the phone through air flow to ensure optimal operating performance.
The Xperia Stream gaming kit also features a four-in-one port with LAN, USB Type-C, HDMI, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, ensuring stable network connectivity, screen display output, charging, and live streaming interactions.
The Xperia Stream gaming kit was jointly developed by Sony Mobile and Japanese esports team SCARZ. It is designed specifically for the needs of long-term mobile gaming. It is easy to disassemble and use, and is even compatible with existing Xperia 1 IV devices, allowing more users to immerse themselves in mobile gaming.
Both the Xperia 1 IV Gaming Edition and the Xperia Stream Gaming Kit will be launched in the Taiwan market in October, but the specific price has not yet been announced.
