Sony has announced the launch of its next-generation mid-range phone, the Xperia 10 VII. While maintaining its lightweight design and long battery life, it also boasts significant advancements in both appearance and functionality, including a first-ever horizontal camera setup and the inclusion of Google Gemini AI technology, allowing mid-range users to experience smarter, personalized applications.
The Xperia 10 VII features a 6.1-inch OLED screen with an aspect ratio adjusted from 21:9 to 19.5:9, delivering a wider and more natural viewing experience. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate. Weighing just 168 grams, it features a "Clear Back" design on the back, highlighting a sleek look with bold color blocks and simple lines. Sony also offers transparent and gradient protective cases to help users express their personal style.
In terms of color, Xperia 10 VII will be available in graphite black, snowflake white and turquoise blue.
Another highlight is that the main camera has been changed to a horizontal arrangement, and the physical camera shutter button, the same as the flagship model, supports quick one-handed shooting and video recording.
In terms of specifications, the Xperia 10 VII is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor, 8GB of memory and 128GB of storage capacity, supports up to 2TB micro SD memory card expansion, dual 5G nano SIM, IP65/IP68 waterproof and dustproof and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The battery capacity is 5000mAh, which is said to last for two days and maintain health for four years. It is equipped with 18W fast charging, front dual speakers and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 tempered glass, which takes into account durability and audio-visual experience.
The camera features a dual-lens configuration, including a 16mm ultra-wide-angle lens and a 4800-megapixel wide-angle lens. It supports AI scene recognition, filter effects, and Google Magic Photo editing. This is the first mid-range model to support Google Gemini, allowing users to use AI features such as circle search and smart photo editing, providing an experience closer to the use cases of Pixel models.
In addition, Sony also provides 4 years of system updates and 6 years of security maintenance to ensure long-term support.
Overall, the Xperia 10 VII's lightweight design and long battery life, combined with its horizontal camera design and Gemini AI, make it a truly unique mid-range phone. For users who appreciate lightweight design and AI applications, it remains a worthwhile new option.
