From Sony's recentRecruiting externally through LinkedInIt shows that in addition to recruiting software development engineers to fix game database vulnerabilities for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, new features and a new version of the emulator will also be added.
According to the job description published on the LinkedIn page, this recruitment of software development engineers will be conducted remotely in the United States. At the same time, the person must have at least 10 years of experience in C/C++ programming language, and be familiar with cross-platform console and PC game design, as well as online team communication and the ability to handle IT problems independently. In addition, it is also best to have experience in 3A game production.
The main responsibilities will include fixing game database vulnerabilities for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, adding new features, and designing a new emulator. This has led to speculation that Sony may be planning to add more classic game content to the PlayStation Plus subscription service.
In the recently updated PlayStation Plus subscription service, Sony provides different user experiences through different subscription plans, including corresponding differences in gaming content. For example, the PlayStation Plus Extra subscription plan has added up to 400 popular PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 games, while the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription plan has added the option to play PlayStation 3 games via cloud streaming, as well as classic games from the original PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable.
Perhaps in the next update, Sony will continue to expand the lineup of classic games included in PlayStation Plus and allow players to achieve compatible gameplay through simulation.
