The PlayStation 5 game consoles currently available for rental include the digital version, the disc version, and the PlayStation 5 Pro. You can choose to rent for 12 months, 24 months, or 36 months, or even rent on a flexible monthly basis according to personal needs.
Like most rental services, the longer the total rental period, the lower the average monthly payment. For example, if the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition is leased for 36 months, the monthly rental fee is 11 pounds (approximately NT$459.94). If calculated based on a flexible monthly lease, the monthly rental fee for the PlayStation 5 Pro is 35.59 pounds (approximately NT$1511.05).
When a rental device is returned with minor dents or scratches, compensation is generally not required. Compensation is only required if there is significant damage. Additionally, all rental plans come with a two-week "trial" period, allowing users to determine if the device is suitable for their personal use.
In addition, when the lease period ends, the user can choose to purchase the leased device or continue to lease it, and can also change the lease usage plan.
Sony chose to offer a PlayStation 5 rental program in the UK mainly in the hope of attracting more gamers, especially those who only want to play specific games but are not inclined to purchase an additional game console.
