Sony launches a new product for its movie camera seriesVENICE Extension System MiniThe body design boasts a more compact and miniaturized design that combines a 35mm full-frame, E-mount body. Compared to the previously launched Venice Extension System 2, it is only 70% the size, and the size from the front is almost the same as that of an ordinary smartphone.
The VENICE Extension System Mini weighs only 540 grams, and weighs 1.05 kilograms when paired with a PL movie lens adapter. It is equipped with the VIENICE 2 8K image quality sensor and has a mechanism for installing ND filters. The body will automatically detect and adjust the tightness of the ND filter, allowing it to be used with different lenses.
The VENICE Extension System Mini is designed with a modular structure and can be connected to the VENICEVenice 2 series modelsIt can be connected or used for multi-lens shooting. It also allows for long-term handheld shooting with a smaller body, or is more conducive to taking the lens in a limited space. It can also be flexibly installed in different lens positions to shoot the picture.
A more specialized usage mode involves combining two VENICE Extension System Minis side by side to capture stereoscopic content. The separation between the optical axes of the two systems when aligned is exactly the average distance between the human eyes, 64mm, creating an image that closely resembles human vision. Furthermore, 360-degree video content can be recorded via multi-camera connection, allowing for greater flexibility in filmmaking.
The Venice Extension System Mini, along with its dedicated cable and extended ND filter set, will be available in July of this year, with pricing provided by Sony's professional department upon request.
