In a recent interview, said Hideaki Nishino, CEO of Sony Interactive EntertainmentPlayStation 5 ProIt was put into development a long time ago, even before the official launch of PlayStation 5.
Hideaki Nishino explained that he had learned a lot from the PlayStation 4 Pro, and revealed that about 20% of PlayStation 4 platform players chose to use PlayStation 4 Pro, many of whom were new players or players who were playing PlayStation platform games for the first time.
Therefore, when planning the PlayStation 5 game console, the PlayStation 5 Pro was actually developed in conjunction with it, and plans were made to integrate new technologies into this game console, while also expecting to attract more support from gamers.
However, Sony Interactive Entertainment does not define PlayStation 5 Pro as a "new console", but rather gives players more choices.
As for the next generation of game consoles, Hideaki Nishino did not disclose specific details, but emphasized that the next generation of game consoles usually comes out 3-5 years after the previous generation of game consoles, and integrates the latest technology to give players a newer and more satisfying gaming experience.
If we estimate that the PlayStation 5 will be launched in November 2020, Sony Interactive Entertainment should have already planned the next generation of game consoles, and further news is expected to be announced as early as next year.
