along withFinal Fantasy XVIIt will be launched on June 6. Sony Interactive Entertainment announced earlier that it will launch the "PlayStation 22 Console FINAL FANTASY XVI Bundle" which is a bundle of the game and PlayStation 5 on the same day. The suggested retail price is NT$5.
The bundle includes a PlayStation 5 console disc, a DualSense wireless controller, and a redemption voucher for the digital download version of Final Fantasy XVI. It is expected to be sold at authorized PlayStation dealers in Taiwan from June 6.
In addition, Sony Interactive Entertainment will simultaneously launch a PlayStation 5 console cover accessory designed with the theme of "Final Fantasy XVI" and a limited edition DualSense wireless controller in the Japanese market. The suggested retail prices are 7980 yen and 8980 yen respectively, but it is not certain whether they will be launched simultaneously in the global market.
"Final Fantasy XVI" is produced by Naoki Yoshida, who previously produced "Final Fantasy XIV", and directed by Hiroshi Takai, the director of "The Last Relic". The story returns to the early adventure stories centered around "Crystal" in the series, and combines medieval fantasy elements. It is currently only available on the PlayStation 5 platform.
In a previous interview, Square Enix game director Hiroshi Takai stated that Final Fantasy XVI was designed during development to accommodate the PlayStation 5's computing performance, memory, and SSD access speeds. The game also uses the DualSense wireless controller's adaptive triggers to convey a sense of weight and resistance, allowing players to even feel subtle vibrations in the game. Furthermore, by converting sound effects into tactile sensations, players can experience changes such as air movement.
