"Ghost of Yōtei", a new spin-off of the "Ghost of Tsushima" series, which was announced in September last year, was earlier confirmed by Sony to be released on PlayStation 9 on October 10, and the collector's edition and other content were also announced.
"Ghost of Yotei" is created by Sucker Punch and presented as a new derivative work of the "Ghost of Tsushima" series. Through the newly released trailer "List of Ghosts", players can get a glimpse of the gameplay charm of "Ghost of Yotei".
The game's story recounts sixteen years ago, in the heart of Ezo (present-day Hokkaido), a group of villains known as the "Yoti Six" stole everything from Atsushi. They murdered her family, nailed her to a ginkgo tree outside her home, and set her on fire. But Atsushi survived. She learned to fight and hunt, and years later, she returned home with a list of six names: Snake, Oni, Fox, Spider, Dragon, and Saito.
She will hunt them down one by one, avenging her loved ones. The katana she wields is the same one that impaled her on the burning ginkgo tree. However, while this journey begins with revenge, Atsuya will discover that it carries far more than just hatred. As she explores Ezo, she will meet unexpected allies, forge bonds, and gradually find a new purpose in life.
In Ghost of Yotei, the open-world exploration system has been enhanced, offering greater freedom and variety than in Ghost of Tsushima. You can decide which clues to pursue and which member of the Yotei Gang to hunt first. Atsushi can also track down other dangerous targets to earn bounties or visit weapon masters to learn new techniques. Ezo is a wild wasteland, both stunningly beautiful and deadly.
Throughout your open-world journey, you'll encounter unexpected dangers and moments of tranquility (including some returning activities familiar to Ghost of Tsushima fans). You can also light a campfire and gaze at the stars at any time in this open-world space. We want everyone to explore Ezo freely at their own pace, and we look forward to sharing more content with you.
