Solidigm announced the launch of the Solidigm D7-P5810, a high-speed SSD designed to meet the needs of intensive write workloads. The product utilizes 144-layer SLC 3D NAND and a PCIe 4.0 interface design, offering an endurance of up to 50 disk writes per day (DWPD) in random writes and 65 DWPD in sequential writes.
Compared to competing products, the Solidigm D7-P5810 delivers up to twice the performance in caching, high-performance computing, data logging, and logging, all while costing less than 2% of non-NAND SCM technologies.
The Solidigm D7-P5810 is ideal as a storage accelerator in front of a high-density capacity tier (such as QLC SSDs). It can accelerate system performance when storing performance-sensitive data such as metadata or logs on SLC SSDs, for example, using SLC as a dedicated write-ahead log in a Ceph cluster. SLC SSDs can also be used as a write buffer or cache, eliminating performance bottlenecks and significantly improving application performance, thereby improving total cost of ownership (TCO).
In addition, data written to an SLC SSD first completes (commit) faster, allowing subsequent reads to be faster. When data access frequency decreases, it can be aggregated, compressed, and written in batches to a larger capacity QLC storage device (such as the Solidigm D5-P5336), thereby more efficiently utilizing the storage media space. In conjunction with write-shaping software such as the Cloud Storage Acceleration Layer (CSAL), it can further provide solutions that extend the storage density, TCO, and sustainability value of QLC SSDs to more workloads.
Solidigm D7-P5810目前推出800GB (U.2 15mm外型規格)版本、1.6TB版本將於2024年上半年推出。
