After launching the first Samurai Shodown in 1993, SNK announced earlier that it would launch a completely new game in 2019.SAMURAI SHODOWN, and created a new character appearance through the UNREAL ENGINE 4 game engine.
SNK also released the first wave of trailers earlier, in which redesigned classic characters including Haohmaru, Nakoruru, Galford, Yagyu Jubei, Shiranui Genan and others will all appear again. At the same time, the close combat with cold weapons and the blood-spurting effect design of the "Samurai Shodown" series when being hit by cold weapons are retained, and the special moves of each character are also expected to be retained and reproduced, such as Haohmaru's Tenba Fengshen Zhan that appeared in the trailer this time.
However, it is currently impossible to confirm whether the battle system will retain the rage value settings used in previous games, whether it will retain weapon destruction and bare-handed combat, whether the battle screen will still retain the camera stretching effect widely used in the "Samurai Shodown" series, or settings such as the hidden character Kuroko.
At present, it has only been confirmed that the game will be presented as a completely new work, the characters will still include Haohmaru, and it is expected to be officially released in 2019. In addition, since the game is still applying for an age rating, it is not yet clear whether the game content will retain the radical scenes such as beheading and decapitation in the past Samurai Shodown series.
