Snap CEO Evan Spiegel announced earlier in his keynote speech at the Augmented Reality World Expo (AWE) that the augmented reality glasses expected to be launched next year will be called "Specs" and will be built in a lighter and smaller form factor.
Evan Spiegel said that the augmented reality glasses will be announced when they are ready for market, but the price has not yet been disclosed.
Prior to this, Snap has provided its fifth-generation augmented reality glasses to developers, and used them in the form of a one-year subscription with a monthly billing of US$99, but it has not sold them to general consumers. The main purpose is to attract more developers to create augmented reality application services.
Snap currently believes that artificial intelligence will become the next focus of development. At the same time, it also believes that current hardware devices and operating interfaces are far from sufficient to realize the potential of artificial intelligence applications. It is expected that artificial intelligence will be combined with the immersive experience corresponding to augmented reality, allowing users to use artificial intelligence functions in a more intuitive way.
