SiFive announced differentiated solutions for generative artificial intelligence applications. The company also introduced two designs, the SiFive Performance P870 and SiFive Intelligence X390, to address the demands for high-performance computing and low-power operation, and are suitable for infrastructure, consumer electronics, and automotive applications.

Among them, the SiFive Performance P870 design will correspond to high-performance computing consumer device applications, or be combined with vector processors built for data center needs to produce higher computing performance.

It is equipped with a six-wide out-of-order core, which improves peak single-thread performance by 50% (specINT2k6) compared to the previous generation SiFive Performance series processors. It complies with the RVA23 Profile design specification and has a shared cluster cache. It supports up to 32-core clusters. At the same time, it can execute more instructions, complete more logical operations, or perform more division of labor operations in each cycle at high execution throughput.

The SiFive Performance P870 design is also fully compatible with Google's Android platform requirements on the RISC-V architecture, enabling it to support more product designs based on the Android platform environment.

The newly released SiFive Intelligence X390 design builds on the foundation of the previously announced SiFive Intelligence X280 design and is equally adaptable to AI applications, as well as hardware accelerators for mobile, infrastructure, and automotive applications.

The newly launched SiFive Intelligence X390 design, with its single-core configuration, double vector length, and dual vector ALUs, quadruples vector computing performance and increases sustained data bandwidth by a factor of four, significantly improving overall computing performance. Furthermore, the SiFive Vector Coprocessor Interface Extension (VCIX) allows for the expansion of customized vector instructions and hardware acceleration to further expand computing performance for specific needs.

In addition, SiFive also stated that its customers have used its designs to create high-performance processor products, which have entered the commercial application stage. It will continue to cooperate with more industry partners to promote the software, security and application flexibility advantages of the open standard ecosystem.
