Following its launch in late October last yearAQUOS R9 Pro and AQUOS Sense9 smartphones, and announced the launch in October this yearAQUOS R10Sharp subsequently launched AQUOS sense10 in the Japanese market, but did not further update AQUOS R10 Pro.
There will definitely be no Pro model released this year.
In a subsequent statement, Sharp executives said that they would not be releasing a Pro model this year, but emphasized that they had no plans to abandon this product specification.
However, with Apple's iPhone continuing to expand its market share in Japan, becoming the first choice for most consumers, coupled with the successive entry of Chinese brands such as Xiaomi into the Japanese market, and the continued encroachment of brands like Google and Samsung on the Japanese smartphone market, the market share of traditional Japanese brands such as Sony and Sharp has gradually shrunk. This may have led Japanese brands, including Sharp, to choose to consolidate their existing market share (although Sony is clearly still sticking to its flagship model strategy).
The newly launched AQUOS sense10, positioned in the mid-range mainstream market, not only upgrades the processor specifications but also incorporates a number of AI imaging technologies from high-end models, and features a brand-new AI call noise reduction function for the first time.
The AQUOS sense10 is expected to launch first in Japan on November 13th, followed by releases in Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, and other markets. In Japan, it will be sold by major telecom operators such as NTT DOCOMO, KDDI, SoftBank, Rakuten Mobile, and J:COM, with a SIM-free version also available simultaneously.
Performance Upgrade: Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 with Pro IGZO OLED
The AQUOS sense10 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor and a 6.1-inch Pro IGZO OLED display panel with Full HD+ resolution. It supports automatic refresh rate adjustment from 1 to 120Hz (up to 240Hz display effect through black frame insertion technology) and a peak brightness of 1500 nits.
Combining the low power consumption of the Pro IGZO OLED with a large 5000mAh battery, Sharp says the AQUOS sense10 can achieve up to two days of battery life under a test benchmark of 10 hours of daily use (4 hours of video, 3 hours of music, 2 hours of social media, and 1 hour of gaming).
AI features introduced: AI image correction, new "Vocalist" AI call noise reduction.
The biggest upgrade in Sense 10 lies in the decentralization and innovation of AI functionality:
AI image correction (inherited from AQUOS R10):
• It incorporates AI image correction technology from high-end models, adding a new "Remove Reflection Mode" in addition to the existing "Remove Food Shadows" and "Remove Document Shadows" modes.
• This feature automatically reduces reflections when shooting through glass or aquariums, clearly capturing details of the exhibits, and automatically performs keystone correction on documents.
AI image synthesis computation:
• Also derived from the R10, it enhances detail in zoom and night mode through image information processing that surpasses RAW level.
The all-new "Vocalist (AI Noise Cancelling Magic Wand)":
• A brand-new AI calling technology that allows users to pre-register their voice.
• During a call, AI will instantly identify and filter out ambient noise and other people's voices to ensure that the other party only hears your clear voice, which is said to bring a call experience that is "more immersive than a real conversation".
