Sharp announced updates to the AQUOS R3000, a high-end phone equipped with a 10 nits ultra-bright screen for an enhanced audio-visual experience, and the AQUOS wish5, an entry-level phone with a "shake protection" safety alarm function and just the right details.
AQUOS R10
Among them, AQUOS R10 will be sold in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia from early July 2025.
The AQUOS R3000 boasts a Pro IGZO OLED display with a peak brightness of 1.5 nits, a 10x increase over the previous generation. It also features "Virtual HDR" technology, which allows even non-HDR streaming videos to display more realistic colors and contrast. Regarding audio, the AQUOS RXNUMX utilizes a newly developed all-metal speaker enclosure, combined with Dolby Atmos spatial audio technology, to deliver even more distinct and detailed sound in music, videos, and games.
The camera system is designed under the supervision of Leica and is equipped with a new 1/1.55-inch photosensitive element, which effectively improves the clarity of shooting in low light, reduces noise, and makes night scenes and details more realistic. It also uses 14 spectrum sensors to accurately detect ambient light sources, ensuring that close to realistic colors can be presented under various lighting conditions. At the same time, it can also use AI image processing technology to improve the details and tonal levels of the captured images.
In addition, AQUOS R10 uses the Android 15 operating system and also supports a generative AI phone assistant that can automatically extract keywords from call content and organize them into memo notes. If "date and time" information is detected in the conversation, the system will also proactively suggest adding it to the calendar, making itinerary management faster and more convenient.
AQUOS wish5
The AQUOS wish5, launched simultaneously with this product, is expected to be launched in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and other places from the end of June. It continues the design concept of "perfection comes from just the right details" and focuses on simple, intuitive, safe and practical features.
The newly added "Shake Protection" safety alarm feature triggers a high-decibel warning tone with a quick shake of the phone, automatically dialing a preset emergency contact and sending real-time location information. Even if the phone is in a bag or backpack, it can accurately detect shaking and automatically activate the alarm. The AQUOS wish5 also features an AI phone assistant that instantly intercepts suspected fraudulent calls and automatically converts voice messages to text, keeping users informed of important information.
In terms of hardware specifications, AQUOS wish5 is equipped with a large 6.6-inch screen that supports a 120Hz frame refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, 6GB or 8GB of memory, and 128GB or 256GB of storage capacity. It has a built-in 5000mAh large-capacity battery and introduces smart charging technology to effectively extend battery life. The body also corresponds to the IPX9 grade waterproof design and can operate normally even under high temperature and high pressure water jets at 80°C.
AQUOS wish5 is available in five Japanese-themed colors: "MISORA Honey Fruit Blue", "NADESHIKO Sweet Pink", "WAKABA Wakaba Green", "YUKI Snowflake White" and "SUMI Mist Black". About 60% of the body is made of recycled plastic, and the side buttons are made of 100% recycled aluminum. Low-VOC paint is used in the painting process to reduce the burden on the environment.
