SEGA recently announced theNew player account system, which will allow players to connect to all SEGA and Atlus promoted games, and also allow them to share game news, updates or promotional information directly with players.
While the account system is free to apply for, SEGA will also offer bonus rewards to encourage players to sign up. For example, the first wave of rewards includes a downloadable special costume for Kazuma Kiryu from the game "Dragon in the Sky: Pirates of Hawaii." This will be available in February and redeemable for all players who have created a SEGA account before March 8th.
Although it's a bit slower than other gaming companies, SEGA clearly wants to follow the development model of using player accounts to build a larger service experience, allowing players to synchronize game progress through the account system, or connect more gameplay data, and even connect more players to interact.
At the same time, SEGA also revealed that it will provide more application services and functions through the player account system in the future, and thereby increase the player's gaming interaction stickiness.
