Former General Manager of the Commercial Affairs Group of a Large EnterpriseBian Zhixiang After Sean Pien took over as general manager of Microsoft Taiwan on July 7 this year, he further shared with Taiwanese media today (1/9) the direction he will take Microsoft Taiwan in.
Bian Zhixiang said that he had personally experienced many "A-Ha" turning points in the past, so he believed that "transformation" is very important for long-term development. This is also the development focus that Microsoft is currently focusing on in its ongoing communication with enterprises. He also believes that the current discussion is no longer just about why and how to transform, but that transformation is inevitable, and digital transformation is regarded as the main axis of development.
In fact, Microsoft has been talking about digital transformation for quite a long time, from the early data digitization to the later cloud development. At the same time, due to the impact of factors such as the epidemic in recent years, Microsoft has further emphasized the importance of digital transformation and called on companies to pay attention to this trend.
From the current Microsoft Teams bridging hybrid office needs, to Azure's cloud development, and even the integration of service applications such as Microsoft 365 and Microsft Viva, Microsoft has always emphasized that enterprises should not only achieve digital transformation, but also more actively develop cloud development models to facilitate the faster pace of change and larger scale of future development trends.
Bian Zhixiang believes that Taiwan has always been in an advantageous position of possessing both hardware and software technologies, as well as supply chain connectivity and integration. Therefore, seizing the opportunity of digital transformation and cloud development is no longer a matter of necessity for enterprises, but an inevitable direction.
In the future, Microsoft will continue to play an enabler role, using its cloud technology, data integration capabilities, and artificial intelligence technologies to help more companies transform and move towards sustainable development. It also emphasizes that it will have deeper cooperation with Taiwan's financial, medical, manufacturing, public utilities, and retail industries in the next five years.
Although in recent years, due to the impact of the epidemic, the Ukrainian-Russian war, and changes in market supply chains, many companies have been thriving because they have kept up with the pace of digital transformation, but many companies have failed to transform in time, resulting in a decline in business development, thus forming a "K"-shaped development trend. Therefore, Microsoft hopes to use its technical resources to help companies keep up with the pace of digital transformation.
Regarding future development directions, Bian Zhixiang emphasized that the company will move towards vertical integration and expand its business scale through horizontal development, allowing local Taiwanese companies to grow through digital transformation and cloud computing. He also emphasized that the world's 66th Azure cloud data center, which will be launched in Taiwan before the end of the year, will connect the three major industries of finance, medical care, and high-tech manufacturing, as well as the application needs of government agencies. He also explained that the company will adopt a different development model from Google, which established a data center in Taiwan seven years ago, and hopes to drive the trend of local companies moving to the cloud.
