Seagate has launched the new SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive to meet the storage needs of edge security environment surveillance. It also introduces its Exos X24 24TB conventional magnetic recording (CMR) technology to significantly increase the hard drive storage space.
The new SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive is primarily designed to meet the recent demand for artificial intelligence (AI) applications, which has led many companies to rely on large-capacity hard drives for data storage. It is designed for edge security applications and the recording needs of webcams that integrate AI applications, and can perform content analysis using AI technology during the recording process.
The SkyHawk AI 24TB storage drive intelligently scales storage to support up to 64 HD video camera streams and an additional 32 AI streams, making it ideal for networked surveillance environments that utilize AI technology.
In addition, the SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive supports more than 10000 hours of video recording and analysis operations, including heavy XNUMX/XNUMX security surveillance system workloads using artificial intelligence analysis, and can ensure image accuracy through Seagate ImagePerfect AI firmware.
It has a mean time between failures (MTBF) of up to 250 million hours and a workload rate of 550TB per year, which is almost three times the reliability of a standard security surveillance hard drive and ten times that of a desktop hard drive.
On compatible systems, the drive will proactively monitor environmental and usage conditions through the SkyHawk Health Management tool, and recommend preventative measures when necessary.
The SkyHawk AI 24TB storage hard drive comes with a five-year limited product warranty and three years of Seagate Rescue Data Recovery Service, and is available in the Taiwan market starting today.
